I have never played through these games, but like the design of these. I really like the look of the small critter as well as the expressions (I think those are cute).

I really like the shape, texture and the details such as the animation on the surface of the blade and the way shadow briefly fades as the light flashes.

I had a lot of fun with the lighting, honestly wanna do more gem studies after this since I felt like this really increase some of the subtlety in how I usually light flashes in my sprites!

I really like the use of 4 colors (how everything can be told apart) as well as the way it changes on the moving gears, the way the ground was done and how the character seems to fit in with the environment. Very neato!
